How does one occupy a sluggish end-of-the-week (“TGIF”) mind on a rainy day? Well, what I did was to lie down on my bed to stare at the dismal weather scene outside my bedroom window, until I saw this little visitor clinging to the window pane. I watched his antics for a while and then reached for the camera.
Soon I was contorting my weary old bones and muscles into unthinkable positions in order to get a clear shot. Kneeling on my bed with a stiff knee was not an option; neither was lying on my stomach trying to lift my equally stiff neck into an upright position. I tried crouching next to my bed on the floor, but my arms refused to stretch to the necessary height.
My next and only remaining option was to yell for my daughter. At least I can report that there is nothing wrong with my vocal cords. She got it just right with her Nikon Coolpix L840. Oh, to be that young and agile again.
Once I saw the image in my viewer, I realised that a little slimy snail on my window pane may not interest anybody besides myself, but then I started to play around with the image. From the original photograph, I cropped and resized the three images below, without any additional editing.
I am very happy with the end result and my rainy Friday frivolities put the smile back on my face.
Small things …
