My vreugdes en frustrasies

Because I love challenges!

I love participating in the various blog challenges. It provides an opportunity to meet other bloggers with common interests and, at the same time, it forces me to follow the discipline of writing on a regular basis.

A and I Poetry

New Zealand blogger and writer, Ineke, from I scrap 2 and blogger, Amanda, from Something to Ponder About in Australia are jointly hosting the A and I Poetry Challenge in English and in Afrikaans, in the WordPress community. The challenge ends in October 2018.

A – Z (2016) and A – Z (2018)

This challenge is an annual event – find more details on the hosting team’s Facebook page Blogging from A to Z April Challenge. You are required to post every day except Sundays, about topics thematically ranging from A to Z, during the month of April. I did not participate in 2017, but won the badges for completing the 2016 and 2018 challenges.

The Incredible Blogger Marathon Challenge (IBMC). Prakash Hegade is the event organiser. The IBMC is a series of ten diverse tasks, set to prove the versatility of the participants. All ten tasks must be completed (published) within 15 days. The series is still open and participants can join in at any time. I completed the challenge in January 2018.

I am hosting this challenge for writers of Afrikaans blogs. The challenges vary from single topics to series. Currently we are participating in a “virtual tour” of South Africa – a different blogger plays host to all participating bloggers in a different region of the country and a new blogpost is published each week. This challenge will run until end of Januarie 2019.

The Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS) challenge is hosted by Linda G. Hill and prompts (plus the rules for participation) are published on her site every Friday. “Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing (typos can be fixed), and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.” Currently running.

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the community (discontinued).

Automattic’s Worldwide WP 5k, an annual event. I participated in 2015 and 2016.
