Since our move to a new neighborhood on the Southcoast, we have been fighting a valiant battle to be reconnected to the internet, but thus far we have not been successful. We will keep on trying (or move again if necessary!) as I really miss the discussions and news of WordPress blogland.

Currently, we have to drive a distance of 22 kilometers a day to “borrow” some internet juice to keep in touch with family and our clients.

😠 😡 😤 😖

I hope to be back sooner rather than later.

      Dankie dat julle my darem mis. Ons is nog steeds in dieselfde omgewing, net 1,2 km verder teen die kus af, maar Telkom se lyne het blykbaar net gestrek tot by ons ou woonstel.

    Ek het eers die foonmaatskappye en Telkom probeer maar het toe besluit op ‘n plaastlike verkaffer. Ek betaal minder as by Telkom en kyk nie ‘n oomblik terug nie. As julle ‘n probleem het kry jy ‘n sms wat verskoning maak

      Ons het geen probleme met ons hosting company nie. Ons het ‘n cloud server wat hardloop soos ‘n vosperd, maar jy bly afhanklik van datalyne by Telkom. Ons gebruik omtrent 100gb per maand as ons baie versigtig werk. Waar ons nou is, kan hulle nie meer as 10 gb verskaf nie. Nou sit ons met ‘n Ferrari, maar geen teerpad waarop dit kan hardloop nie.

Not long after the Great Fishing Expedition I seremoniously parked my fishing rod at the #tidalpool to indicate the end of my fleeting fishing career #🌊 #southcoastkzn #kznsouthcoast #beach #beachvibes #beachlife #kzn #fishing
The very next day I was again invited on the Great Fishing Expedition. I’m not one to miss out an adventure and I promptly confirmed my enthusiastic intentions to share this pastime with my children by catching a beautiful zebra fish (called a Wildeperd in this part of the world). Once again the only catch of the day 😁 The rest of the holiday saw the siblings slipping off quietly in the mornings (without the parent) to play catch-up. This little rock cod did not even have an opportunity to enjoy the squid that I so lovingly prepared for him. My son came to visit and I tagged along with the Great Fishing Expedition. In the end, I was the only one who caught any fish (size is not important in this instance – every little fish is counted). Covid lockdown 2021 – I think this Rainbow Wrasse was my last victim before the lockdown regulations were lifted and I decided to give up on my non-starter fishing career. By this time my long suffering daughter insisted that I should learn to bait my own hooks and that was too much for my nervous system. I remember using mussels for this catch 😖 This photo ... we were getting VERY good at telling tall fishing tales 🙄 Back into the water went the little fishy, and back to swimming and beach walks I went. #🌊 #southcoastkzn #kznsouthcoast #beach #beachvibes #beachlife #kzn #fishing
Covid lockdown 2021 – fishing from the beach. This one was identified as a Blacktail – very common in this area. The size looks quite impressive, don’t you think – it wasn’t, actually. We were just learning to take better photos. Stand back from the camera and lower the fish towards the camera lens. Covid lockdown 2021 – fishing from the beach although I am still very wary of the unpredictable waves. A Spot Damselfish | Spot Sergeant was my next victim. Identified by local fishermen or maybe with the help of the internet. Back into the water. They can grow up to 25cm and this one still had some growing to do. #🌊 #southcoastkzn #kznsouthcoast #beach #beachvibes #beachlife #kzn #fishing
