Not long after the Great Fishing Expedition I seremoniously parked my fishing rod at the #tidalpool to indicate the end of my fleeting fishing career #🌊 #southcoastkzn #kznsouthcoast #beach #beachvibes #beachlife #kzn #fishing
The very next day I was again invited on the Great Fishing Expedition. I’m not one to miss out an adventure and I promptly confirmed my enthusiastic intentions to share this pastime with my children by catching a beautiful zebra fish (called a Wildeperd in this part of the world). Once again the only catch of the day 😁 The rest of the holiday saw the siblings slipping off quietly in the mornings (without the parent) to play catch-up. This little rock cod did not even have an opportunity to enjoy the squid that I so lovingly prepared for him. My son came to visit and I tagged along with the Great Fishing Expedition. In the end, I was the only one who caught any fish (size is not important in this instance – every little fish is counted). Covid lockdown 2021 – I think this Rainbow Wrasse was my last victim before the lockdown regulations were lifted and I decided to give up on my non-starter fishing career. By this time my long suffering daughter insisted that I should learn to bait my own hooks and that was too much for my nervous system. Covid lockdown 2021 – fishing from the beach. This one was identified as a Blacktail – very common in this area. The size looks quite impressive, don’t you think – it wasn’t, actually. We were just learning to take better photos. Stand back from the camera and lower the fish towards the camera lens. Covid lockdown 2021 – fishing from the beach although I am still very wary of the unpredictable waves. A Spot Damselfish | Spot Sergeant was my next victim. Identified by local fishermen or maybe with the help of the internet. Back into the water. Ek neem aan jy sê vir ons hiermee dat jy daardie cube reggekry het. Dan sê ek geluk (wou al lankal my kleinseun vir jou gestuur het om te help.) Jy kan nou maar daarvan ontslae raak…. en al die frustrasie wat daarmee saamgaan.

Nee, nee, jy verstaan nie my psige heeltemal nie. Nou gaan ek eers speel totdat ek dit in ‘n beskaafde tyd kan klaarmaak (sonder verwysing na die tutorial). Dan gaan ek dit in die openbaar speel sodat mense kan sien hier sit ‘n ou vrou en “MAGTIG, kyk hoe werk haar brein”! Wanneer ek genoeg komplimente gekry het, sal ek begin fikseer op iets anders 😄

As kind het ek ‘n triek ontdek met die Rubik-cube en my ouers was so verbaas dat, elke keer wat ek dit voltooi het, hulle my R10 sakgeld gegee het. Toe ontdek my ma eendag dat ek die plakkers afhaal en dan al die kleure by mekaar opplak. Dit het die sakgeld gestop (vir my Rubik cube triek, ek het darem nogsteeds sakgeld gekry vir my ‘tuin dienste’) maar my ma was nie te kwaad nie, sy het gese dat ek darem al die kleure by mekaar uit gebring het, en al het ek dit op die stoute manier gedoen is dit seker maar ook ‘n manier om die puzzle te speel. hehehehehe

Haha, dankie Abrie. Ek het gelukkig nooit met Adriaan se kubus deurmekaar geraak nie, maar ek het hom so terloops leer ken (deur werk). Hy iss ‘n charming ou, maar ek sal maar by die kubusblokkie hou.
