  1. I don’t quite get it—was that some kind of an upside-down nest?
    Interesting, nevertheless. 🙂

  2. Yes, it is, in fact, upside down and it is hanging on a very thin branch above a body of water. This is the way that the finch (weaver) protects its eggs and young from snakes and other predators. How the eggs and the little ones stay put in the nest, is still a mystery to me.
